Rule 5 pick Carter Baumler hasn’t pitched in a week during his rehab assignment in Round Rock, and he may be on ice for much longer after being diagnosed with a strained rotator cuff.
Josh Smith is headed to the IL with a glute strain, and had been replaced on the active roster by Justin Foscue.
The injury comes just as Smith was showing some signs of rebounding from a terrible start to the season.
