NBA Finals 2026: Fan who made ‘vulgar’ taunt at Jalen Brunson reportedly can’t sit courtside for rest of series

The fan who made a “vulgar” taunt at New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson will reportedly not be allowed to sit in courtside seats if he attends another game during the 2026 NBA Finals, according to multiple reports. The NBA looked into the situation following the Knicks’ Game 1 win over the San Antonio Spurs, where Brunson addressed the issue with head ref Scott Foster at the end of the game.

Initial reports suggested two fans were involved, but the NBA investigation resulted in one fan getting punished, per Ian Begley of SNYtv.

The NBA noted that the fan in question was not a Spurs season-ticket holder. It’s unclear whether that fan plans to attend any additional games in the series.

The Knicks and Spurs are set to square off in Game 2 in San Antonio on Friday night. After that, the series will move to New York for Game 3 and Game 4. If more games are required, the series will go back to San Antonio for Games 5 and Game 7, with Game 6 being held in New York.

Brunson dealt with multiple injuries during the team’s 105-95 win in Game 1. He was able to shake off those ailments, leading the Knicks with 30 points, 19 of which came in the second half.

Despite those injuries, Brunson was not listed on the team’s injury report ahead of Game 2, suggesting he’ll be a full-go when the Knicks take the court Friday evening.
