The move places Mayer inside a promotional group that now controls a significant portion of the sport’s top female talent. For Mayer, the explanation was simple.

“I’ve always wanted the biggest and best fights, and MVP’s premier roster of women champions creates incredible opportunities to make those matchups happen,” Mayer said after the deal was confirmed.

Her explanation points to a larger development within women’s boxing. The biggest names in the sport have historically been scattered across different promoters and networks, which has often complicated negotiations for major fights even when public demand was strong.

MVP appears to be building a different model by concentrating a growing number of champions and contenders under the same banner. With Serrano, Baumgardner, Cameron, and Dubois already part of the stable, Mayer’s arrival strengthens a promotional group that can now arrange several high-profile matchups internally.

Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian and Paul emphasized Mayer’s standing in the sport when announcing the deal.

“Mikaela is one of the most accomplished fighters in women’s boxing and a proven champion across multiple weight classes,” they said in a joint statement. “She has competed on the sport’s biggest stages, faced the best fighters in the world, and continues to push the sport forward.”

Mayer enters the partnership as one of the most accomplished fighters in women’s boxing. The former U.S. Olympian has captured world titles across three divisions and is currently ranked among the top fighters in the sport. Her recent run included a victory over Mary Spencer that secured titles in another weight class and reinforced her position among the elite.

By joining MVP, Mayer now becomes part of a promotional roster that has steadily expanded over the past year. Paul’s company has made women’s boxing a central part of its strategy, signing champions across multiple divisions while promoting events that feature female fighters in prominent roles.

The result is a promotional group that now houses several of the athletes most often mentioned in potential marquee fights.

Mayer’s decision to sign suggests she sees that concentration of talent as the most direct route to the matchups she has been pursuing throughout her career. As more high-profile fighters gather under the same banner, the path to the sport’s biggest women’s fights may increasingly run through MVP.
