Errol Spence believes Tim Tszyu will need a different approach when they meet later this month, warning that fighting the same way he has in previous bouts could lead to another stoppage defeat.

Spence questioned whether Tszyu would stick with his usual aggressive style after suffering knockout losses in two of his last three fights.

“I think they’re going to change the game plan up. If not, it might go the same way as his other fights where he gets stopped,” said Spence via Ring Magazine on X.

Spence has also dismissed Tszyu’s recent comments about targeting his surgically repaired retina, saying he is fully confident in his health and believes his punching power will decide the fight.

The former unified welterweight champion is moving up to junior middleweight for the bout after more than two years away from the ring. His last appearance came in July 2023, when Terence Crawford stopped him to become the undisputed welterweight champion.

Tszyu has won two straight since suffering a seventh-round stoppage loss to Sebastian Fundora in 2025, defeating Denis Nurja and Anthony Velazquez.

The Australian has insisted he intends to pressure Spence from the opening bell and believes his opponent is no longer the same fighter after the long layoff and eye surgery.

Spence and Tszyu are scheduled to meet on July 25 at the Afterpay Arena in Sydney, Australia, in a 158-pound catchweight bout. The fight marks Spence’s first appearance since the Crawford loss and is viewed as an important test for both fighters as they attempt to re-establish themselves among the top names at junior middleweight.
