Dana White says he already knows where the long-awaited Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury fight will take place, but he isn’t ready to reveal the location.
“I have all the info,” White said last Sunday night at the Jose “Rayo” Valenzuela vs. Edwin De Los Santos 2 post-fight press conference in Las Vegas when asked about the heavyweight showdown.
Asked if he would be promoting the fight, White replied, “See what Turki [Alalshikh] says at the peace summit. Like I told you guys. I know where it is. And never did I say Las Vegas.”
White’s comments suggest the plans for one of boxing’s biggest potential fights are already well advanced, even if an official announcement has yet to be made. Rumors have linked the bout to several locations in recent months, with Las Vegas frequently mentioned as a possible destination. White, however, made it clear he has never identified the Nevada city as the host.
Joshua and Fury have discussed fighting each other for years, but the long-awaited showdown has never been finalized.
Turki Alalshikh has made the fight one of his top priorities and has previously indicated that discussions are ongoing. White’s reference to the upcoming peace summit suggests a formal announcement could come once Alalshikh addresses the media.
White also declined to confirm whether Zuffa Boxing will officially promote the event, instead directing attention back to Alalshikh’s expected announcement. Since launching Zuffa Boxing, White has repeatedly stated that his company intends to become a major player in the sport while working alongside Alalshikh on select events.
If Joshua vs. Fury is finalized, it would rank among the biggest heavyweight attractions of the modern era. Both former champions remain two of boxing’s biggest commercial draws, and a long-awaited meeting between them has been one of the sport’s most anticipated matchups for nearly a decade.
