It wasn’t a lot of fun for Duke to play against Ty Jerome when he was at Virginia, but that guy was a winner. He understood Tony Bennett’s system perfectly and led his team brilliantly.
As it has turned out, he’s become valuable in the NBA too. He’s expected to start for the Memphis Grizzlies, where he’s now a teammate of a former Duke star and current NBA rookie, Cameron Boozer.
Here’s what Jerome says about Boozer, after working with the star rookie throughout the preseason: “I think Boozer has got to be one of the most mature 19-year-olds I’ve seen. On the court, off the court, feel for the game. His ability to shoot, pass, and dribble at that height is super impressive. I think he’s just going to impact winning.”
You think? That’s all he’s ever done. There’s no reason to think that’ll stop now.
