ABC7 | Sam Ryan: Yesterday was the 25th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, and baseball played somewhat of a role in helping New York and the nation emotionally recover. Several players from 2001 were part of the pregame remembrances ahead of the Subway Series game on Friday. Players from both teams also took time to tell what they remember from those times 25 years ago.
MLB.com | Bryan Hoch: Among those pregame moments, the Yankees had Brielle Saracini and Sean McGuire, who were both children when they lost parents on 9/11 (and later married), throw out the first pitches. However, it was not Saracini’s first time up close with the Yankees, as Derek Jeter and the team invited her to a game back in 2001 after she had written a letter to the team as a 10-year old shortly after the tragedy. Ahead of Friday’s game, they reunited and both remembered their experiences.

New York Post | Dan Martin: The Yankees made a couple lower-profile additions to try and shore up their bullpen in recent weeks, and one of them was former AL Rookie of the Year Michael Fulmer. In this Subway Series, he’s facing the team that drafted him years ago, eventually trading him to the Tigers for Yoenis Cespedes in 2015. However, he’s now on the other side of the city and has gotten off to a decent start in the Bronx.
