A new expanded behind the scenes documentary series covering the 2025 World Rally Championship will hit screens next month.
Following the successful debut of the More than Machine series that followed M-Sport-Ford’s 2024 WRC campaign, a second series has been commissioned that will follow M-Sport as well as rivals Toyota and Hyundai.
The new seven-part series produced by Superlative films and supported by WRC sponsor Safety Culture will air from 23 November, with episodes being released weekly on the WRC’s Youtube channel until 4 January. More than Machine will also be streamed by a number of the WRC’s current broadcast partners.
Among the stories captured this season, the second series of More than Machine follows Adrien Fourmaux’s first steps with Hyundai after the headline off-season switch of 2024. The documentary also charts the heartbreak of Takamoto Katsuta at Safari Rally Kenya, explores life in the hot seat with the WRC’s leading co-drivers, and tracks Martins Sesks as he learns to temper expectations after his breakout year in 2024.
“We have a clear target with More than Machine and it is to reach as many people as possible, offering a new unique insight of the WRC to our already existing fan base, whilst opening rallying to an entirely new audience, who will be captivated by the unique stories and incredible grit and determination required to succeed in our sport,” said Philipp Maenner, the WRC Promoter’s senior director of media rights and OTT platforms.
“The timing of the series provides a perfect bridge between the 2025 and 2026 seasons, satisfying the appetite of our content-hungry audience.”
A world premiere screening of the first episode from the second series will be shown at the Central European Rally this week.
