MANCHESTER UNITED boss Ruben Amorim might still be sweating over his future — after being pictured next to a psychic reading .

The Red Devils secured a much-needed 2-1 win over Chelsea on Saturday to ease some of the pressure on their under-fire boss.

But Amorim isn’t out of the woods yet after losing three games already in all competitions — helping him earn the worst win percentage of any United boss since World War Two.

It’s been a turbulent start to life at Old Trafford for Amorim since leaving Sporting Lisbon last year and he could only guide the team to a 15th-placed finish last season.

A disastrous Carabao Cup exit to League Two side Grimsby and 3-0 defeat to rivals Manchester City last week left him facing calls for the sack.

That huge win over ten-man Chelsea, courtesy of goals from Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro, has certainly bought him some time – but there are still challenges ahead.

And the 40-year-old was pictured taking a break from his hectic role at United this week as he took wife Maria for lunch on Monday afternoon.

The United boss wore a white t-shirt, beige jacket, brown trousers and white trainers as he linked arms with Maria in swanky Alderley Edge in Cheshire.

But as the pair made their way through the town, they were spotted next to a sign advertising for psychic readings.

Amorim can’t know what lies in store for him, but for now retains the backing of chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the club’s hierarchy.

The two met at United’s Carrington base last week and Amorim said the talks were positive – as he joked he had been offered a new deal.

Amorim said: “It’s normal things, just to show the support. Explaining that it’s a long project. He said many times: ‘This is my third season.’ For me it’s not.

“I spoke with him, with Omar, with Jason. Just trying to see all the data around the team. So a normal meeting and we had several, but at this moment it’s normal people pay attention to that.”

After the Chelsea game, Amorim stressed the team must develop an “urgency” to win games after “suffering” against the Blues.

He added: “We suffered in the end but we deserved the win.

“Our crowd, our fans are easy to please. If you give everything they will be there. That is something our players need to understand. To have the crowd with us we just need to run, to fight and tackle.

MANCHESTER UNITED held their nerve to see off Chelsea despite a late fightback at Old Trafford.

“It is really important because I understand the situation around this club. We cannot forget that we suffer a lot when we are on top. We can lose against Grimsby, we can beat any team.

“I’m just thinking about the next one. It is really good to win. We need the urgency to win again, that is really important for us.”

Recent reports have claimed Amorim risks being sacked this season unless he can qualify for European football.

Amorim will need to keep the positive results coming if he wants to keep the momentum surrounding the team.

United have two winnable games on the horizon against relegation candidates Brentford and Sunderland.

After the international break, they travel to Premier League champions Liverpool for a daunting trip to Anfield.
