Winnipeg Jets score miracle goal to force OT with nearly no time left in Game 7 vs. Blues

The Winnipeg Jets just delivered one of the most dramatic goals in the history of playoff hockey.

Trailing 3-2 to the St. Louis Blues in Game 7 of the first round at home, the Jets had the extra skater but the clock ticked under 10 seconds.

Nikolaj Ehlers took a big swing from the point at a slap shot but whiffed before the puck trickled back to him.

At the second time of asking, he whacked a cross-ice pass to Kyle Conner, who hit a first-time shot toward goal.

Cole Perfetti, parked in front of the net, tipped the puck up and over Jordan Binnington and into the back of the net.

With 1.6 seconds remaining in Game 7, it was all square at 3-3. And two overtimes later, the Jets were moving on to the next round.

It was the second extra-man goal the Jets had gotten. They had already scored with 1:56 to go to pull within 3-2.

St. Louis led the whole way, going up 2-0 after 7 minutes and 16 seconds of the first period.

The jets got one back on a power play in the second period, but the Blues scored with 35 seconds remaining in the second to take the 3-1 lead.

The Jets looked done, until they weren’t.

And in a way only playoff hockey could deliver, overtime was on tap.

Somehow, that incredible goal wasn’t even the conclusion. It just set up more magic.
