LIVERPOOL are set to make a trip to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea in the Premier League.

The Reds are in a tough spot ahead of the clash, having lost two games in-a-row for only the second time under Arne Slot.

Despite this, the defending Premier League champions once again sit top of the division, with Arsenal giving chase in second.

Slot’s side were handed a 2-1 defeat in the depths of injury time by Eddie Nketiah last time out in the league, while their last game was a 1-0 loss to Galatasaray after a Victor Osimhen penalty.

And, to rub salt in the wound, Liverpool will now be without their world class shot stopper Alisson Becker for the trip to Chelsea.

The Brazilian shot stopper was forced off injured in the Reds 1-0 loss to Galatasaray in the Champions League, with Arne Slot later confirmed on the night he would miss the trip to London.

Slot will now call on his number two ‘keeper, Giorgi Mamardashvili, to step in for Alisson.

The Premier League champions have previously enjoyed success with backup ‘keepers against the Blues, with Caoimhin Kelleher becoming a particular bane in Chelsea’s life.

The latest setback means Alisson will now have missed at least 56 games through injury since his switch from Roma in 2018.
