ARSENAL have reached the Champions League final four for the first time since 2009.

The Gunners knocked out defending champions Real Madrid, after Los Blancos were unable to overturn the 3-0 deficit in the second leg.

Declan Rice was the hero of the tie, scoring two stunning free-kicks at The Emirates to all but settle the tie before the sides even made it to Spain.

Mikel Merino added the third goal in north London in the first leg.

VAR was the talking point of the second leg, awarding Arsenal an early penalty first then denying Real Madrid one later in the second half.

Bukayo Saka missed his kick from 12 yards, but Madrid could not pounce on Thibaut Courtois’ save.

Saka was then the hero as he put Arsenal 4-0 up on aggregate, however Vinicius Jr made the Gunners sweat again when he pounced on a Saliba mistake to level on the evening.

Gabriel Martinelli then put any doubt to bed, as he scored in added time and sealed the win on the night and the tie for Arsenal.
