THE Carabao Cup first round takes place this week – with some huge ties taking place.

35 matches feature in the opening stage proper, as many giants of the lower tiers get up and running in the competition.

The draw for the Carbao Cup second round will take place on Wednesday, August 13.

The event will take place during the build-up to Birmingham vs Sheffield United at St Andrew’s.

That means the draw will likely begin at between 7pm and 7.30pm BST.
