GARETH SOUTHGATE has shared an update on his next job a year after stepping down as England boss.
He has been out of management since but has plenty of irons in the fire to keep himself busy.
Southgate revealed he has been enjoying a slower pace of life since leaving England.
He has been working with young people and young coaches, as well as looking after his business interests.
Southgate told SunSport: “I’m enjoying my life. I’m enjoying a different pace of life. I’m busy I’ve got a book that I’m finishing writing on leadership.
“I’ve got several business interests. I help young coaches with mentoring.
“I’m doing a lot of work around the situation around young men. Problems we’ve got for young people in our country, losing their way a bit, and opportunities.
“I’m playing golf and a bit of padel tennis as well, what’s not to like?”
Asked about a return to management, he said: “I’ve no idea. It’s not something I’m actively seeking at the moment.
“But when I left Middlesbrough 15 years ago I wasn’t looking then either and something came along and I ended up where I ended up.”
Southgate managed England for eight years from 2016 to 2024 and led the Three Lions to two Euros finals.
He oversaw four major tournament campaigns and was linked to the Manchester United job following the sacking of Erik ten Hag last year.
Reports claimed he was also interested in taking the Poland job earlier this year.
Southgate was in attendance at the PFA Awards night in Manchester where he watched Mo Salah pick up his THIRD Player of the Year prize.
