Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are both set to return to the ring this week, but Turki Alalshikh says the biggest news may come after the final bell.

With Fury scheduled to face Mariusz Wach in Thailand on Friday and Joshua meeting Kristian Prenga in Jeddah on Saturday, Alalshikh indicated that something significant is planned once both contests are out of the way.

In a video, Alalshikh kept his comments brief while hinting that an announcement involving the two former heavyweight champions is close.

“Let’s see Joshua fight, Fury fight. It is this week. And after that we have a big announcement,” said Turki in a video shared by EverythingBoxing.

The brief statement offered no details about the announcement or what it will involve. Turki did not reveal what the news will involve or provide a timetable beyond saying it will come after the fights.

Joshua is coming off a stoppage victory over Jake Paul in December 2025, his first bout since the knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in 2024. Fury also brings a recent victory into his return after defeating Arslanbek Makhmudov in April, his first win since losing to Oleksandr Usyk for the second time in 2024. Both are aiming to keep winning before attention shifts to Alalshikh’s promised announcement.

Joshua and Fury have been tied to one another for years, but every serious attempt to make the fight has fallen through despite the interest surrounding it.

If both come through their tune up fights this weekend, Alalshikh’s promised announcement is likely to become the next major talking point in the heavyweight division.
