Tuesday Morning Texas Rangers Update

Good morning.

Shawn McFarland writes that the Texas Rangers played the team that perhaps sold most at the deadline and they committed five errors while nearly getting shut out in their sixth consecutive loss.

Jeff Wilson writes that there was plenty of buzz about how the Rangers would tackle the trade deadline yesterday only for them to not do much of anything at all (which also wasn’t surprising).

Evan Grant notes that the big move was ditching Josh Smith to a selling Toronto for left-handed pitcher Adam Macko.

Kennedi Landry writes that Jacob deGrom could have been dealt but, thanks to a no-trade clause, he decided to stay in Texas.

Grant writes that deGrom wants to win with the Rangers because he signed with the Rangers to win with the Rangers.

Ken Rosenthal writes that deGrom could have become an Atlanta Brave and gained like 15 games in the standings but he believes in these Austin Wynns Rangers. I should note that this belief was expressed before the Rangers committed five errors while nearly getting shut out in their sixth consecutive loss. Don’t forget, deGrom: You’re here forever.

McFarland notes that the Rangers traded activating Chris Martin from the injured list for designating him for assignment.

Landry writes that Jordan Montgomery threw five shutout innings in his latest rehab outing which means we can pretend that the Rangers traded for Jordan Montgomery at the deadline.

And, McFarland notes all of the other players we can pretend the Rangers acquired such as Jack Leiter and Cody Bradford and Josh Jung and Kyle Higashioka who are all rehabbing to make a return.

Have a nice day!
