A TOP flight clash was forced to be abandoned due to FOG.
The fixture in Croatia’s top flight was left completely unwatchable with a decision made to axe the contest early on.
NJ Rijeka were on the road at Istra on league duty but the official club accounts shared images of the action – well sort of – and players could barely be seen.
Salim Lawal had opened the scoring after just five minutes for Istra before Rijeka hit back through Luka Menalo four minutes later in a frantic start.
However, just over 10 minutes later the game was interrupted due to the conditions with thick fog playing havoc.
With 15 minutes on the clock a brief pause in play was ordered and a change to an orange ball was made in order to continue the showdown.

But five minutes later both sets of players were pulled from the pitch by the referee due to the conditions worsening.
It was announced at that point that the game would be stopped for 10 minutes – with Rijeka also sharing that news with supporters online.
More than 20 minutes reportedly passed from that original announcement before a decision was made and that was to abandon the top flight encounter.
A new date and time is yet to be announced for the fixture.
Rijeka posted online: “The Istra 1961 – Rijeka match was interrupted due to fog in the 18th minute with the score 1:1.
“All information related to the resumption will be posted once it is official.”
NK Instra 1961 also posted online adding: “Dear fans, due to extremely unfavourable weather conditions (fog) and reduced visibility on the pitch, the match of the 17th round of the SuperSport HNL between Istra 1961 and Rijeka has been interrupted.
“The new match date will be determined subsequently, and we will inform the public about it in a timely manner.”
Istra 1961 remain fourth in the table – just two points off Slaven Belup in third spot and the European qualification spots.
Rijeka are sixth, just two points behind today’s opponents.
