But Thomas Frank has rebuffed fans who claimed the ace had injured himself in Saturday’s bizarre scenes.

The Spurs star rescued a dramatic point for his side in their 2-2 draw at Burnley.

Romero fired in a 90th minute strike to deny the Clarets a much-needed win.

But disaster seemingly occurred seconds later.

The Argentina star celebrated wildly as he ran towards visiting Tottenham fans.

Romero’s passion was clear to behold as he toasted his goal.

However, the defender got carried away with the party.

In stunning scenes, Romero let out a roar before kicking an advertising hoard.

He struck the object with some real force.

Yet it seemed to immediately backfire as Romero reeled around while yelling in apparent pain.

And boss Frank ramped up fears over the issue by immediately subbing Spurs’ hero off.

Fans reacted online to Romero’s apparent injury.

One said: “That’ll be surgery and six months out.”

Another declared: “A never-ending circus.”

One noted: “Whole club is a mess.”

Another added: “We are in serious trouble, relegation battle 100 per cent.”

However, Frank declared after the match that Romero was not injured at all.

In fact, he had only been subbed off after his goal due to cramp.
