FANS are claiming Marcus Rashford has already earned the “miss of the season” award after a horror effort for Barcelona.
The forward joined the LaLiga champions on loan with an option to buy from Manchester United this summer.
Rashford, 27, was named in the starting XI to take on Serie A side Como in the club’s final pre-season game.
With the Spanish side cruising 4-0, Rashford created a great opportunity to get himself on the scoresheet.
The England star looked full of confidence as he rounded goalkeeper Jean Butez to give himself an empty net to slot the ball into.
But he could maybe be accused of having been overconfident as he then proceeded to casually slot the ball wide of the gaping Como goal.

The 62-time international looked shocked at the miss as he whipped his hands above his head.
Fans were equally stunned as they reacted on social media.
One posted: “Rashford with the miss of 25/26 already.”
A second wrote: “This is the miss of the season.”
A third commented: “No way he missed that.”
A fourth said: “How did he miss that.”
Another added: “That’s him back to Man United then.”
Fortunately for Rashford, the likes of Fermin Lopez, Raphinha and Lamine Yamal had already scored, with Yamal adding a second to his tally after the break as the final hit in a 5-0 rout.
And Rashford did manage to contribute to the thumping win as he used his pace to beat a defender and brilliantly assist Raphinha’s goal.
The Man Utd loanee’s miss came just days after he scored his first in Barcelona colours.
Rashford found the net in the friendly against Korean outfit Daegu FC on August 4.
But he is facing the prospect of being one of seven Barcelona players BANNED from playing in LaLiga.
As has been the case throughout the last few years, Barca find themselves scrambling around in order to navigate LaLiga financial rules and register all their players.
And this summer is no different, with Rashford in danger of being one of the stars to miss out.
