Ramon Cardenas will get another opportunity to move into world title contention after securing a WBC interim super bantamweight title fight against Sam Goodman.

Lance Pugmire of Boxingscene reports Cardenas and Goodman are set to meet on the July 26 Prime Video pay-per-view card headlined by Errol Spence Jr. and Tim Tszyu in Australia.

Cardenas’ co-manager Mike Miller and ProBoxTV founder Garry Jonas confirmed the bout, which will match the WBC’s #4-ranked contender against the #2-ranked Goodman.

“It’s a very good matchup on foreign soil, you’ve got to go for it,” Jonas said.

“I don’t stand in the way of a fighter getting paid more money. We look forward to him bringing home the belt and putting the belt on ProBoxTV.”

Cardenas (27-2, 15 KOs) earned widespread attention in May 2025 when he dropped undisputed super bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue before eventually being stopped in the eighth round. Despite the loss, his performance elevated his standing in one of boxing’s deepest divisions.

The 30-year-old Texan had previously been linked to a late-August appearance on a ProBoxTV card headlined by Lester Martinez, but the opportunity to face Goodman for interim championship honors took priority.

Goodman (22-1, 8 KOs) is also coming off a world title challenge. The Australian dropped a unanimous decision to Nick Ball in August 2025 and has since rebounded with two consecutive victories on home soil.

The bout joins a card headlined by former unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. and former WBO junior middleweight champion Tim Tszyu. Former middleweight titleholder Jermall Charlo is also expected to appear on the event.

A victory would place either Cardenas or Goodman in a strong position among the leading contenders at 122 pounds and move them closer to another world title opportunity.
