BRENTFORD’S final pre-season friendly was marred by a violent clash between fans and the police.

The Bees hosted Borussia Monchengladbach on Friday in a 2-2 draw at the Gtech Community Stadium.

But the game was tainted by some ugly scenes outside the away end when a dozen yobs were embroiled in a brawl.

Some appeared to shove and kick stewards as well as cops outside the ground.

Police officers then formed a ring around the rowdy fans before they were seen sitting down by the away end in the East Stand.

The authorities then formed a barrier to contain them by the ground.

The incident was filmed by a fan’s phone while watching from the balcony.

The friendly match was attended by a number of families with young children.

They watched an entertaining encounter that saw Gladbach opening the scoring in the half-hour mark with Grant-Leon Ranos.

Brentford equalised on 69 minutes with Fabio Carvalho and turned the game on its head just a minute later with Mikkel Damsgaard.

But the visitors levelled things up just four minutes before full-time with Franck Honorat.
