“Seek and destroy if you’re Anthony Joshua,” said Mora to DAZN Boxing. “You don’t want nothing to go wrong. You don’t want anything to ruin the big fight coming up with Tyson Fury and him, which will be the biggest fight in British history.”
“I want him to go out there and annihilate this man. I want him to do what Anthony Joshua did to Francis Ngannou. No games, straight knockout. Get your work in and get out.”
Mora believes Joshua should approach the fight with the same aggressive mindset he displayed against Ngannou and avoid giving Prenga any confidence.
“This guy should not get out of the second round with Anthony Joshua. He should be dispatched within six minutes,” Mora said.
The former world champion questioned the level of opposition on Prenga’s record and argued that the challenger has not faced anyone close to Joshua’s caliber.
“Kristian Prenga doesn’t belong in the ring with a former heavyweight champion, former two-time heavyweight champion of the world,” said Mora. “If you look at his resume, yes, 20-1 looks incredible. Twenty knockouts. Incredible. Look who he’s been knocking out.”
For Mora, the issue goes beyond simply winning. He believes Joshua needs a dominant performance to build momentum heading into a potential clash with Fury later this year.
“The fight with Fury, it needs some momentum,” Mora said. “If AJ messes around and, God forbid, winds up going the distance with Kristian Prenga, that’s not going to help fan interest in AJ against Fury.”
Joshua has not fought since his victory over Jake Paul and enters the Prenga bout looking to position himself for one of the biggest heavyweight fights of the modern era. According to Mora, anything less than a quick and decisive victory would raise unnecessary questions ahead of a possible showdown with Fury.
