Ryan Garcia isn’t saying exactly what he means, and that’s what has made his latest exchange with Conor Benn so interesting.

The back-and-forth started when Benn accused Garcia of staying quiet following his two fights against Chris Eubank Jr., questioning why the WBC welterweight champion wasn’t calling for a fight.

Garcia offered no explanation, leaving followers to interpret the message for themselves.

Some fans believe Garcia could be referencing Benn’s size following his move up in weight for the Eubank fights. Benn looked significantly larger than the fighter who had previously campaigned at welterweight, appearing more like a junior middleweight or even a small middleweight during portions of the rivalry with Eubank.

The added size became one of the biggest talking points surrounding those bout

Others have pointed toward Benn’s failed drug tests from 2022, one of the most controversial episodes of his career. Garcia, however, stopped short of providing any clarification, ensuring the debate continued underneath the post.

The timing is notable because both fighters have been linked to a potential showdown. Garcia currently holds the WBC welterweight title after defeating Mario Barrios, while Benn has repeatedly expressed interest in facing elite-level opposition following his victories over Eubank.

Whether Garcia meant Benn’s size, his past testing issues, or something else entirely is anyone’s guess. What we do know is those four words worked perfectly to spark a whole new wave of speculation. “Think real hard why 😅.”
