Boxing fans subscribed to DAZN’s Ultimate plan will not have to pay an additional fee to watch the August 22 welterweight title fight between Rolly Romero and Teofimo Lopez.

According to boxing reporter EverythingBoxing, the joint DAZN and Prime Video pay-per-view event will be included as part of the existing DAZN Ultimate subscription, giving customers on the premium tier access to the card at no extra cost.

The bout will headline an August 22 show at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, with WBA welterweight champion Rolly Romero making the first defense of the title he has held for more than a year against former two-division world champion Teofimo Lopez, who will be making his debut at 147 pounds.

The announcement applies only to DAZN Ultimate subscribers. Fans without the premium subscription will still need to purchase the event through the standard pay-per-view model unless DAZN announces additional viewing options before fight night.

The Romero-Lopez matchup has generated mixed reactions since its announcement. Lopez enters the fight after moving up to the welterweight division for the first time, while Romero will be making the first defense of the WBA title he won more than a year ago.

The matchup brings together two former world champions in one of the summer’s highest-profile boxing events.

Including the event at no additional cost for Ultimate subscribers gives DAZN another incentive for boxing fans considering its highest-priced subscription tier. For regular PPV buyers, the savings from major events could offset the higher monthly subscription cost over time.
