Robbie Avila reportedly agrees to Exhibit 10 deal with Lakers after going undrafted

Robbie Avilia has reportedly agreed to an Exhibit 10 contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to Jon Chepkevich of DraftExpress.

The 22-year-old, 6-foot-10 center was not selected during this week’s NBA Draft. Under an Exhibit 10 contract, Avila has agreed to a one-year, non-guaranteed deal for the league minimum salary. There are optional bonuses included that can reach $75,000 if a player is waived and they spend at least 60 days with a team’s G League affiliate.

This type of contract can be converted into a two-way contract, which then results in bonus money being guaranteed. Any Exhibit 10 players who remain on a team’s 15-man roster after the start of the regular season have their contract become a standard minimum deal.

Avila played his first two collegiate seasons at Indiana State where he was named to the 2023 Missouri Valley Conference All-Freshman team and was First-team All-Missouri Valley Conference in 2024.

He entered the transfer portal following the 2023-24 season and moved on to St. Louis to follow Josh Schertz, his coach at Indiana State. In two seasons with the Billikens, Avila averaged 14.9 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4 assists per game. He was a second-team All-Atlantic 10 conference player in 2024-25 and earned first-team honors along with A-10 Player of the Year this past season.

Avila’s bespectacled look led to several memorable nicknames from fans during his four college seasons. Among the best of them were “Cream Abdul-Jabbar” and “Larry Blurred” — or “Larry Nerd,” playing at Indiana State like Larry Bird before him.

Avila’s passing talent from the center position also led to him being called “The College Jokić” after Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic, a three-time NBA MVP. The monikers “Milk Chamberlain” and “Steph Blurry” have also been attached to him.
