The Las Vegas Raiders bolstered their wide receiver room during the 2025 NFL Draft, as the team added TCU’s Jack Bech in Round 2 and Tennessee’s Dont’e Thornton Jr. in Round 4.

Bech and Thornton have a ton of promise and could be instant contributors to Chip Kelly’s offense. However, it would be wise for Las Vegas to acquire another proven pass-catcher along with Jakobi Meyers and tight end Brock Bowers.

There aren’t many viable receiving options remaining on the free agency or trade market, but Silver and Black Pride’s Bill Williamson believes the Raiders should sign one of the top players left in free agency, wide receiver Keenan Allen.

“The Raiders could use another veteran wide receiver on a short-term deal and Allen makes some sense as a depth piece. Remember, he’s played under new Raiders’ wide receiver coach Chris Beatty in the past four years. It would be a smooth transition,” Williamson wrote.

Allen is coming off a down year for his standards in 2024, as the veteran tallied 70 receptions for 744 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 games with the Chicago Bears. The 33-year-old has never posted under 60 catches and 700 yards in a healthy season in his 12-year career thus far.

General manager John Spytek should look to sign Allen and add him to the Raiders’ offense, as he would be a nice security blanket for quarterback Geno Smith and take some pressure off Meyers and Bowers. Additionally, the six-time Pro Bowler’s veteran leadership would be incredibly valuable for a Las Vegas squad under a new regime.

The Raiders have a good amount of cap space left to spend, and the front office should look to help out their veteran signal-caller in Smith by signing Allen. The former third-round pick still has juice left and has always been productive, no matter the situation. Spotrac projects Allen’s deal will be worth $22.1 million over two seasons, which Las Vegas should be willing to pay.
