O’Shaquie Foster Tells Raymond Ford To Work On His Chin

O’Shaquie Foster Tells Raymond Ford To Work On His Chin

WBC super featherweight champion O’Shaquie Foster says Raymond Ford should spend less time talking and more time preparing for the punishment he expects to deliver when they meet this Saturday night in Houston.

Foster and Ford headline on DAZN from the Fertitta Center in a fight that has become increasingly personal during fight week. Foster made it clear he is not concerned with Ford’s confidence or social media exchanges heading into the bout.

“Hey, you don’t all that talking to me and responding to everything I say. You’d better be working on your chin, doing some neck exercises. For some of this s*** you’re going to be getting hit with because we ain’t worried. We’re built like that,” Foster said to Matchroom Boxing.

The fight matches two of the best fighters in the 130-lb division, but Foster appears focused on making it physical. Ford moved up after losing his WBA featherweight title to Nick Ball last year and now faces one of the sharpest counter punchers in the sport. Foster’s comments suggest he believes Ford is underestimating the punching power and toughness he will be dealing with on Saturday night.

Ford has talked confidently throughout the promotion, but Foster sounds like a fighter expecting a hard fight rather than a technical chess match. Saturday’s main event could turn into one of the more physical fights of the year if both men stay in the pocket the way Foster expects.
