The post came after Brunch Boxingâs Matt highlighted that Shakur mentioned several names during a recent interview but omitted OâShaquie, despite previously indicating he would consider facing him if Foster defeated Ray Ford.
OâShaquie has long pushed for the matchup. The two share history from the amateur ranks and have exchanged words publicly over the past few years, but negotiations have never advanced to the point of a signed fight.
Instead, Shakur has recently focused on bigger-name options following his move to Zuffa Boxing. During media appearances this week, he mentioned interest in fights against Gervonta Davis, Devin Haney and Conor Benn while continuing to pursue the highest-profile bouts available.
OâShaquie, meanwhile, appears determined to keep the pressure on.
His message suggests he believes Shakur is intentionally overlooking him in favor of more lucrative opponents, despite Foster holding a world title at super featherweight.
The matchup would pit two of boxingâs most technically gifted defensive fighters against one another, though it has often been criticized as a difficult fight to sell commercially because of their styles. OâShaquieâs comments indicate he has no intention of letting the idea fade quietly.
Stevenson has not publicly responded to OâShaquieâs latest accusation. With Shakur tied to Zuffa Boxingâs future plans and Foster continuing to defend his WBC title, there is still no indication that the fight is close to being finalized.
