Connor McDavid has one stat he can hold over even The Great One.

Wayne Gretzky never accomplished the feat that McDavid did on Friday night in the Oilers’ win over the Stars.

With an assist on Friday, McDavid is up to three goals and 17 assists in these playoffs.

He’s the fourth player in NHL history to have 20 points in four consecutive postseasons.

According to the NHL, the three players to do this prior to McDavid were Sergei Fedorov, Bryan Trottier and Mike Bossy.

McDavid has reached his 20 points in just 13 games so far.

In 2022, McDavid had 33 points (10 goals, 23 assists) in 16 games.

McDavid came closest to ending the streak when he had 20 points exactly in 2023, coming in just 12 games.

Last season, McDavid handed out an NHL record 34 assists en route to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final. He also had eight goals for 42 total points.

Now, McDavid is hoping all this point-getting can lead to him hoisting the biggest trophy in hockey.
