Wayne Rooney is lining himself up for a new role — as Question of Sport captain.
The ex-England skipper and cricketer Jimmy Anderson led teams in a charity version of the former BBC quiz.
They took to the stage at the school attended by Wayne’s sons Klay, 12, Kit, eight, and Cass, six.
Parents bid for a spot on each team.
MUTV presenter Helen Evans hosted the quiz and the sports stars shared stories from their careers.

A source said of this month’s event, part of a £5million fundraiser at Cheadle Hulme School, Cheshire: “Tickets sold out quickly after word got round that Wayne was going to appear.
“He and Jimmy were brilliant and had the audience in stitches.”
Former Manchester United striker Wayne, who turned 40 on Friday, joined the Match of the Day panel in August and has his own podcast.
Sadly for him, long-running show A Question of Sport was shelved by the BBC in 2023.
The source added: “Wayne is quite introverted but has enjoyed media work.
“He’d be up for A Question of Sport if the BBC brings it back.”
