Toledo Mud Hens 5, Louisville Bats 1 (box)
Max Clark had another strong game, and the bullpen scattered four hits and one walk, striking out 11 as the Hens took a quick lead in this series.
The center fielder led off the bottom of the first with a 400 foot shot to right field for a 1-0 lead. Max Anderson followed Clark with a double, and a single from Gage Workman got him to third, while a Corey Julks sacrifice fly made it a 2-0 lead.
Nick Sandlin and Troy Watson started this off for the Hens bullpen, each throwing two scoreless frames. Enmanuel de Jesus allowed an unearned run in the fifth.
In the bottom of the eighth, Brett Callahan took a fastball to the ribs and was then thrown out trying to take second base. With two outs, Trei Cruz singled, and Jace Jung walked. That brought catcher Bennett Lee to the dish, and Lee cranked a two-run triple to make it 4-1. Clark stepped in and paddled a single to make it 5-1.
Tomas Nido was released by the Tigers today, so it seems Bennett Lee is going to get some run. It may also mean that Thayron Liranzo moves up to join Lee and Eduardo Valencia as the catching core once he returns from his rehab assignment.

Chesapeake Baysox 7, Erie SeaWolves 6 (F/11)(box)
The SeaWolves fought back from an early defiict only to lose this one in 11 innings on Tuesday afternoon.
They loaded the bases in the second but couldn’t cash in. However, in the third, Seth Stephenson and Peyton Graham were both hit by pitches to start the inning. Singles from Justice Bigbie and Andrew Jenkins made it a 1-0 game. Unfortunately, that’s all they got.
In the bottom of the fourth, lefty Carlos Peña gave up a solo shot. He collected the next two outs but an EJ Exposito error extended the inning and Peña gave up a three-run shot before finally escaping. 4-1 Baysox.
Lael Lockhart took over in the fifth and he surrendered single runs in the sixth and the seventh. A parade of walks issued in the top of the seventh led to a SeaWolves’ run. In the 8th, Garrett Pennington singled to lead off and a wild pitch moved him to second. Max Burt singled in the run to make it 6-3.
So it was last call in the top of the ninth. Josue Briceño led off with a walk, and Justice Bigbie launched a two-run homer to right field. Jenkins followed him with a solo shot, and just like that we had a tie game.
Neither team managed to score in the 10th. Jeisson Cabrera issued a walk to the SeaWolves, but otherwise struck out three. Trevin Michael collected a pair of strikeouts in shutting down the Baysox.
Unfortunately the SeaWolves managed to fail to score the baserunner on second in the 11th as well, and predictably got walked off.

Peoria Chiefs 16, West Michigan Whitecaps 3 (box)
Rayner Castillo was terrible in this one, giving up three home runs and eight earned runs overall as the Chiefs beat down the Whitecaps on Tuesday.
Things started off well. Woody Hadeen and Bryce Rainer drew walks to start the game. Ricardo Hurtado grounded into a double play to get Hadeen to third. Andrew Sojka reached on an error as Hadeen scored, and Clayton Campbell drew a walk. Samuel Gil singled in Sojka to make it 2-0.
Unfortunately, Castillo gave up two in the bottom half, and then the Chiefs dropped six on him in the third inning. Tai Peete ambushed him for a pair of impressive blasts. The bullpen held it together briefly until Carlos Lequerica was clubbed for seven runs, putting this entirely out of reach.
In the top of the ninth, Caleb Shpur singled and singles from Hurtado and Sojka made it 16-3. Campbell walked to load the bases but Gil grounded out to mercifully end this one.

Lakeland Flying Tigers 5, Jupiter Hammerheads 3 (box)
The Flying Tigers didn’t have a particularly good game other than defensively, but Hammerheads pitching was hilariously bad, issuing 12 walks on the afternoon.
Jordan Yost led off the bottom of the first with a walk and Javier Báez first rehab at-bat was a single up the middle. A wild pitch advanced them, and after Thayron Liranzo struck out, Beau Ankeney doubled in both runners for a 2-0 lead.
In the third, Ankeney led off with a single. Jude Warwick forced him with a grounder, but then advanced on a bad pickoff throw. Nick Dumensil reached on an error by Jupiter’s third baseman, and Warwick scored. A Carson Rucker fly ball advanced Dumensil to third, and a wild pitch scored him for a 4-0 lead.
Grayson Grinsell was decent early on but leaked a run in the fourth and crumbled in the fifth a bit, allowing two runs. He just wasn’t getting much in the way of whiffs on the outing. He did get some help in the second inning from the strong arm of Thayron Liranzo, who caught part of this one in his rehab work.
Still, it was 4-3 Lakeland. Warwick walked to lead off the bottom of the seventh, later scoring on a Rucker single.
Xiomer Guacache fired two scoreless frames to earn the save. Báez went into the hole at shortstop and made one particularly nice play that looked like his ankle and mobility were both in good shape.

FCL Tigers 13, FCL Blue Jays 2 (box)
Jhonan Coba’s last Complex League start of the year went brilliantly, but it was Cris Rodriguez who got most of the attention after smashing a pair of impressive home runs in this one.
The right-hander turned 20 years old yesterday, and he’s still just shy of 40 innings this season. He fired five no-hit innings in this one, walking two and striking out seven. We expect him to head over to the Single-A Lakeland Flying Tigers and continue his progress this season there.
As for the lineup, Rodriguez hit his 8th and 9th home runs of the year, and he also doubled in this one, running his OPS on the year to .867. 19-year-old shortstop prospect Guillermo Batista also homered and doubled. He’s been very good in his short look at the FCL so far.
FCL Tigers will end their 2026 season on Thursday against the Yankees.
