The worst pitching staff in baseball the last two months got blown out again.

The Mariners lost 19-2 against the Cubs on Sunday. Bryce Miller pitched and was bad early and often, again failing to get through five. The relievers behind him were bad, too, eventually leading to Jhonny Pereda and Weston Wilson on the mound. There weren’t many positive takeaways from this one.

The game started out pretty fun, though. Randy Arozanea led off the first with a homer, after hitting two last night, including a spectacular walkoff. The Mariners were going for a sweep in this one, largely on the back of Arozarena’s play, so this felt like an auspicious…
