Leny Yoro responds

Manchester United ace Leny Yoro has broken his silence after coming in for criticism from Arsenal legend Thierry Henry during a controversial segment of analysis on Monday Night Football.

Yoro was in Henry’s firing line as the France great called him out for instinctively looking to the linesman after Harvey Barnes’ second goal in Newcastle’s 4-1 thrashing of United on Sunday.

The legendary forward claimed he’d “never seen that before”, and impersonated the centre-back’s glance to the official live in the Sky Sports studio.

A video of the analysis shared on Twitter led to widespread criticism of the Barcelona hero for “nonsense” and “pathetic” analysis – the clip has since been removed by Sky Sports.

And now Yoro has posted on social media himself for the first time since the controversy.

The France international took to Instagram to post a photo of himself looking dejected after the defeat to the Magpies alongside a bible passage.

It read: “Do not be anxious about anything, but always ask God for what you need. And when you pray, ask for it with thanksgiving. Philippians 4:6.”

Bruno Fernandes prediction

Manchester United hero Wes Brown believes Bruno Fernandes will remain at Old Trafford but suggests there will be interest from some “big clubs” over the summer.

Brown told AOS:

Bruno Fernandes is definitely staying at Manchester United.

He’s playing a lot better than where the club is in the Premier League, that’s for sure, and he’s the one player who can really hold his head up high.

He’s been at the top of his game and has got the club out of a lot of trouble this season.

You can see the frustration at times with him – you’d ideally like the squad to be full of players with similar ability and passion as him, so I understand why he gets annoyed.

There will definitely be some big teams looking at him in the summer, but I’m certain he will stay.

Andre Onana advice

Manchester United hero Wes Brown advised manager Ruben Amorim to start Andre Onana in goal against Lyon on Thursday ahead of Altay Bayindir.

Brown also doesn’t expect Onana to be sold this summer.

Brown told AOS:

I don’t think the club will sell Andre Onana this summer. It just isn’t a priority for the club at the moment, there are other areas of the pitch that really need to be strengthened first.

Onana cost a lot of money and if the club want to buy another goalkeeper, then it’ll cost them a lot again, so I just can’t see it happening.

I do however feel that the pressure is on him from both fans and his teammates. He’s had a little bit of time to prove himself now and it’s about time he begins to step up in big games.

I think Ruben Amorim has to play Onana on Thursday against Lyon instead of Altay Bayindir after what happened against Newcastle.

He has to hope Onana has one of his better games, it’s as simple as that.

Rashford’s car towed AGAIN

Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford’s £700,000 Rolls-Royce had to be towed again after a second tyre blowout in three weeks — just ten yards from the last.

The same tyre – on the driver’s rear side – burst on Monday morning, resulting in the Mansory Wraith being towed for a second time in 24 days.

t’s not known who was behind the wheel when it broke down – just a mile from where the Rolls has twice been towed.

His first Mansory Wraith was written off.

The forward, 27, who is on loan at Aston Villa, was forced to replace the vehicle after it was involved in a collision on the M60 in September 2023.

The motor was wrecked during a horror crash with a 74-year-old gran as he left United’s training ground in Carrington.

Photos showed the car took a pounding, with extensive damage to the front, left front wing and a mangled rear left wheel and bumper – both drivers escaped without injury.

Wayne Rooney ‘return’?

Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney is in line for a shock return to management just four months after being sacked by Plymouth Argyle.

Blackburn are reportedly considering Rooney as pressure mounts on current boss Valerien Ismael.

Ismael took over at Ewood Park after John Eustace surprisingly left the club to join Derby in February, but the Rovers have won just one of the Frenchman’s eight games in charge and they have slipped out the race for the play-offs.

According to talkSPORT, the 49-year-old tactician is under mounting pressure despite him signing a three-year contract just months ago.

Blackburn are already weighing up his replacement and Rooney is supposedly on the list of possible candidates for the job.

Ruben Amorim’s summer clearout

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has put Andre Onana and several other players “on trial” ahead of a busy summer of transfer activity.

Amorim dropped Onana for Sunday’s Premier League loss at Newcastle and will make a decision on his future.

That’s according to The i Paper, who have reported that Man Utd have prioritised signing a new goalkeeper in the summer.

And whether that new arrival will be first choice or not depends on the Cameroon international’s performances between now and the end of the season.

Altay Bayindir, who conceded four goals as the 9-year-old’s replacement on Sunday, is expected to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season in search of regular first-team football.

It’s claimed that Onana is just one of many players who could fall victim to a summer overhaul at the Theatre of Dreams, with very few senior players said to be safe.
