MANCHESTER United outcast Andre Onana is “feeling the love” again now he has left the club on loan.

But the 29-year-old still plans to return to Old Trafford for their next pre-season in the summer.

Onana joined Trabzonspor on a season-long loan last month, with the Turkish club covering his £170,000 weekly wages in full.

The 29-year-old was jettisoned by United after two years, with his last appearance marred by costly errors in the humiliating League Cup elimination by League Two side Grimsby Town in August.

Sources close to Onana admit the goalkeeper was mentally low after two turbulent seasons in Manchester, where he played 102 times.

Onana feels more relaxed and has regained confidence at Trabzonspor, who are second in the Turkish league behind champions Galatasaray.

Cameroon international Onana has played four times for his new club and kept his first clean sheet of the season in the 4-0 weekend win against Kayserispor.

SunSport has been exclusively told that Trabzonspor have been impressed him so much that they’re exploring ways to make his loan deal permanent.

Well-placed sources say Onana needed love from a club and its supporters following his chastening time at United.

Some United supporters booed Onana at Grimsby and the club signed goalie Senne Lammens less than a week later.

Lammens, 23, impressed on his debut in United’s 2-0 victory over Sunderland at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Onana privately accepts he struggled at United, where he conceded several saveable goals across two campaigns.

United head coach Ruben Amorim opted to pick Altay Bayindir in United’s opening fixture of the season against Arsenal even though Onana had regained fitness in time to play.

Onana missed the entirety of United’s pre-season schedule with a hamstring injury but resumed outdoor training during their tour of the United States in late July.

Bayindir blundered in the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal but kept his place in the Premier League until Lammens replaced him against Sunderland.

Onana is under contract at United until 2028.
