While co-hosting the “Mind the Game” podcast with LeBron James at Fanatics Fest on Thursday afternoon, Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton prodded into the topic everyone at New York City’s Javits Center wanted to hear about.
Early in the program, Haliburton inquired about James’ free-agency destination. James, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, didn’t take the bait.
“Didn’t we already talk about this in the back,” James said during the live taping, per McMenamin, who reported that Haliburton then agreed to “leave it alone.”
Thursday was circled on the calendar.
James’ longtime business partner and agent, Rich Paul, the CEO of Klutch Sports Group, has said plenty about the latest decision in the four-time NBA MVP and four-time NBA champion’s illustrious, soon-to-be 24-season career.
After James bid farewell to the Los Angeles Lakers, whom he won a title with in 2020 amid his eight-season run with the franchise, Paul said the future Basketball Hall of Famer is in pursuit of “complete happiness” with his next contract. Additionally, Paul, while co-hosting the “Game Over” podcast with Max Kellerman, listed potential teams James could join on a whiteboard.
