While the entire basketball world was waiting for LeBron James to announce where he’d be signing in free agency, James seemed to be doing anything but playing basketball.

The NBA legend was seen golfing, vacationing, and seemingly soaking up the attention as the sports world awaited his next move.

Of course, LeBron was surely still getting his work on, probably just doing so early in the morning and without any cameras on him.

Then LeBron chose the Philadelphia 76ers, spent some time with his family, and is clearly now back to work.

This was no better illustrated by a photo James shared to his Instagram story on Tuesday.

The photo was a side profile of LeBron preparing to shoot a free throw while his new 76ers teammate, Tyrese Maxey, watched him in the background.

LeBron and Maxey are known to have a great relationship with each other, as they’re both signed to Klutch Sports Group. Before the King made his decision, his and Maxey’s agent, Rich Paul, indicated that their connection could make Philadelphia a favorite to sign LeBron.

And that was clearly accurate.

It will be fascinating to see how Maxey (who 28.3 points per game last season) fit in with each other in the Sixers’ offense, especially since they’ll also have Joel Embiid and Jaylen Brown competing for shots on the roster.

But this is a good problem to have, especially because LeBron is able to bring out the best in his teammates due to his gravitational pull from defenses.
