JORDAN PICKFORD’S penalty cheat sheet appeared to let him down against Leeds.

Summer signing Lukas Nmecha slotted home from the spot on his debut to help Leeds to a win on their return to the top flight.

England No.1 Pickford dived the right way but could not get down quickly enough to stop the penalty.

Pickford had a penalty cheat sheet of Leeds players’ names written on his bottle.

But some fans believe it was missing Nmecha’s name, with the midfielder an unlikely option for Leeds given he had only been on the pitch for six minutes.

One fan reacted saying: “Pickford was looking at his bottle and it looked like he didn’t have any notes for Nmecha lmao.”

Another added: “No chance Pickford has Nmecha written on his bottle 😂”

A third wrote: “You lot reckon they made Nmecha take it because Pickford would’ve studied/known Leeds’ usual pen takers?!”

And another commented: “Pickford did not find Nmecha’s name on the water bottle, so he decided to have a drink instead.”

Nmecha himself agreed with that sentiment and he thinks Pickford may have been trying to psyche him out.

He said: “I think that was a bit of a bluff to be fair. I don’t think I was one of the names on there.”

Pickford has used a penalty cheat sheet in the past, including when he saved an Erling Haaland spot-kick last season.
