J. Prince Responds After Devin Haney Calls Out Keyshawn Davis And Tank Davis

Keyshawn Davis’ manager says Haney controls the next move but believes his camp is ready for whichever fight comes first

Devin Haney made it clear this week that he wants to fight both Keyshawn Davis and Gervonta “Tank” Davis. Now, Keyshawn’s manager, J. Prince, has J. Prince says Devin Haney holds the cards after publicly naming both Keyshawn Davis and Gervonta “Tank” Davis as future opponents. The veteran manager insists his camp is comfortable waiting because he expects the biggest fights to come their way regardless of Haney’s decision.

“I feel like we’re in a great position,” Prince told FightHype. “That question might have to be asked to the Haney. I got two double barrel shotgun, you know what I mean? On both ends, and I got them blocked in. So, they got to see me one way or the other.”

While Prince didn’t elaborate on what he meant by the “two double barrel shotgun” remark, he made it clear the decision rests with Haney rather than his side.

Haney publicly stated on Wednesday that he wants to face both Keyshawn and Tank, saying, “Both of them.” His comments came as the lightweight division continues to sort through several high-profile options involving multiple champions and contenders.

Prince said he has no issue with whichever path Haney ultimately takes and expressed confidence that the right fights will come together in time.

“I’m looking forward to dealing with all of them in the future,” Prince said. “Devin has a great manager in his father. Bill is my homie. Whatever decision they make has to be respected.”

Prince’s remarks also came after the conversation shifted to Shakur Stevenson, another fighter he manages, although he declined to address the various narratives surrounding Haney and Stevenson.

“I mean, it ain’t really much to clarify,” Prince said. “This is a game where a lot of stuff is talked, so you can expect a lot of that to be thrown and said. It don’t really affect us because we understand what we’re dealing with.”

Prince appears content to wait for now. Rather than lobbying Haney to choose one opponent over another, he projected confidence that whichever road Haney takes, his camp expects to be involved when the biggest fights at lightweight are made.
