“I want him to do the interviews, and I want the interviews to go well, but he doesn’t like doing it,” Warren told TalkSport Boxing. “He just does not like the press.”

Warren said Dubois has never been comfortable with media obligations and prefers focusing only on fighting.

“I think the whole media thing is he just finds it unappealing to him,” Warren said. “He just wants to get in the ring and go and punch somebody.”

The Hall of Fame promoter pointed to Dubois’ reaction after knocking out Anthony Joshua last year as another example of his attitude toward publicity.

“When he knocked out AJ, we couldn’t get him to the press conference,” Warren said. “He wanted to go home.”

Warren added that Dubois had shown more personality in recent roundtable appearances, especially before the Joshua and Filip Hrgovic fights.

“The one he done with AJ, they got quite aggressive there verbally,” Warren said. “I never heard him ever swear before.”

Despite the attention around Dubois’s leaving interviews, Warren believes the promotion for Saturday’s fight does not need extra theatrics.

“The fight doesn’t need hyping,” Warren said. “It is what it is.”

Dubois challenges Wardley for the WBO heavyweight title this Saturday in an all-British heavyweight fight that Warren described as one of the division’s biggest puncher-versus-puncher matchups in years.
