Mike Coppinger reported Friday that Mayweather and Pacquiao have now agreed to terms on an amended deal for a professional fight planned for September 25 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, with Netflix expected to carry the event.

The update moves the fight away from the previously discussed September 19 date and removes The Sphere from the plans after concerns over the economics of staging the event there.

“Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao have agreed to terms on an amended deal for a professional fight on Netflix being planned for Sept. 25 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas,” said Mike Coppinger on X

Coppinger also cited Pacquiao Promotions CEO Jas Mathur, who reportedly said the switch from The Sphere came because the venue was not financially viable compared to a traditional arena setup in Las Vegas.

That detail gave the story a new angle after Pugmire’s report on Thursday generated a major reaction across boxing social media. Coppinger’s follow-up appeared aimed at advancing the reporting further by confirming revised terms, a new date, and the business reasons behind the venue change.

Mayweather, 49, retired with a 50-0 record after defeating Pacquiao in their long-awaited 2015 fight, one of the biggest pay-per-view events in boxing history. Pacquiao returned to professional boxing earlier this year after his exhibition run and has continued discussing another major event fight against his longtime rival.

Neither side has officially announced the rematch yet, but the reporting from Thursday and Friday suggests negotiations have moved much closer to completion than many initially expected.

Netflix’s involvement also makes the rematch more attractive commercially, giving both fighters a wider streaming platform than traditional pay-per-view. The rematch is expected to be one of Netflix’s biggest combat sports events this year.
