ERIK TEN HAG has been linked with a massive new job after his shock sacking from Bayer Leverkusen.

Ten Hag, 55, barely lasted four months at Leverkusen, who dismissed him on September 1 after just three matches in charge.

That came after the Dutch tactician’s acrimonious sacking from Manchester United in 2024.

Ten Hag won the FA Cup and Carabao Cup during his two-year stint at United but was let go last season after a dismal start to the campaign.

However, the Dutchman could be set for a quick return to the dugout.

According to De Telegraaf, Ten Hag could make an emotional return to Ajax in January.

The Dutch giants are under increasing pressure after a poor start under current boss John Heitinga, with fans calling for change.

The club’s board are reluctant to act immediately but Ten Hag still remains the standout candidate to come and turn things around.

Ajax are third in the Eredivisie and although they are undefeated they still frustrated a section of the fans following three draws in seven league matches.

Heitinga has also lost both Champions League matches this season against Inter Milan and Marseille.

The board are holding off on a dismissal for now but fan unrest and disappointing displays have raised serious doubts about the ex-Everton ace’s long-term future.

Ten Hag is open to a return at Ajax, where he enjoyed tremendous success during his four-year stint in charge.
