The refreshed home screen now highlights the golfers you connect with, showcasing their recent scores and activity to create a more engaging, community-focused experience. A redesigned menu also provides clearer navigation to key tools and features.
Richard Flint, Chief Operating Officer at England Golf, said: “After analysis of the data and feedback, the new app changes are aimed at making the all-round MyEG app user experience much more friendly and engaging. We know how people often get to the first tee and need to know handicaps – the new Course Handicap Calculator feature makes that quick and easy. Not just that, but the introduction of Groups will allow app users to manage friends on the app, create groups that they play with, and engage with one another through it.”
The home screen also provides quicker access to key areas of the app, while ‘Scores’ now sits as its own dedicated menu item, where users can view their scoring graph, browse previous scores and create a scorecard.
Additional improvements include new tooltips across the mobile app and web platform, including a ‘Score Legend’ and clearer explanations of the Handicap Index calculation.
What was previously the ‘Dashboard’ now appears under ‘Scores’, while the ‘Friends’ section has moved under ‘Golfers’, with no impact on existing friend lists.
Users whose MyEG app is not set to auto-update will need to manually update to access the new features.
