“He is happy there. He’s really happy. They’re working him like a dog. Like a dog. He’s never worked like this before,” said Hearn to Sky Sports Boxing about Joshua.

“So much so that after three or four days the first time he phoned me. I went to see him and stay with him in his house in Valencia. I opened the door, and there is one single bed in the room.

“I said, ‘Is that your bed?’ He goes, ‘Yeah.’ I said, ‘Are you mad?’ He said, ‘No. It’s so comfy. I love it.’

“That’s just him. He’s thinking, ‘I’m here to work, mate. Don’t put me in a king-size mattress. Stick me in a single bed. I’m here to work.’

“It’s an unbelievable mentality for someone with so much wealth and who has achieved so much. This is why I always talk about how great this individual is. The mindset of the individual.

“He is working harder right now than he’s ever worked in his life before and I believe it will really pay dividends,” said Hearn to Sky Sports.

Joshua is scheduled to face Kristian Prenga on July 25 before a planned fight with Fury later in 2026.
