Tyreek Hill has never shied away from attention — and over the past several months, he’s generated plenty of it both on and off the field. From cryptic social media posts to the kind of headline-grabbing commentary that stirs locker room chatter, the Miami Dolphins star wideout has found himself in the center of speculation about his future with the team.

That speculation only ramped up after Hill recently left Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa off his top-five quarterback list during a Snapchat post.

Hill named Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Baker Mayfield, and Joe Burrow — leaving out the man who has helped him post some of the best numbers of his career since arriving in Miami. Whether or not Tua deserves a spot on that list is up for debate, but the optics of your top receiver snubbing you publicly doesn’t sit well — especially not for a franchise hoping to contend.

Even longtime ESPN NFL reporter Jeff Darlington chimed in on Hill’s recent antics, saying the receiver’s behavior has grown “a little bit tiresome” in league circles. Between social media shade and public ambiguity about his commitment to Miami, Hill’s offseason narrative has been anything but quiet.

Now, add another medical development to the mix.

On Wednesday, Hill revealed on his official Snapchat account that he had undergone a second surgery on his injured wrist (h/t David Furones) — the same injury believed to have occurred during joint practices with the Washington Commanders ahead of the 2024 season. The first surgery was completed back in February, with Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel expressing confidence at the time that Hill would be ready for training camp.

While Hill has been seen participating in voluntary offseason activities, the latest procedure casts some doubt on his immediate availability. No official recovery timeline has been announced, but if this rehab follows the same pace as the first, Hill is still expected to be ready for the regular season. However, his availability for the rest of the offseason program remains uncertain.

With two years remaining on his current deal and trade rumors swirling, Hill’s status continues to be one of the NFL’s most-watched storylines heading into the summer.
