“And let me guess, I gotta come to your weight class to make the fight happen just because u say so? 🤣” said Stevenson on X.

Haney quickly responded.

“Whenever u decide to come to ‘my weight class,’ let’s do it! 💪🏽 I’ll fight your brother, Keyshawn, for now.”

The response shifts attention away from another round of Haney-Stevenson social media back-and-forth and toward a fight that could have direct consequences in the welterweight division.

Keyshawn was recently elevated to the No. 1 position in the WBO’s 147-pound rankings, placing him in line for a potential shot at Haney’s WBO welterweight title. While the sanctioning body has not yet formally ordered the contest, reports have suggested a mandatory title defense could be required later this year.

Haney’s comments suggest he would have no issue facing Keyshawn should the WBO move in that direction.

The exchange also highlighted the current obstacle standing between Haney and Shakur. Haney is now campaigning at welterweight, while Shakur has yet to move up to 147 pounds. Stevenson’s response appeared to question the idea that he should have to change divisions to secure the fight.

Haney, however, made it clear that his position has not changed. The unbeaten champion stated that Shakur is welcome to face him whenever he decides to enter the welterweight division.

For now, Devin appears more focused on the challenger who may soon be directly in front of him.

If the WBO does order a mandatory defense, Keyshawn could become Haney’s next opponent before any long-discussed showdown with Shakur has a chance to materialize.
