Brown started fast and appeared to score a knockdown in the opening round, but referee Harvey Dock ruled it a slip. He continued to control the action early and rocked Vasquez with a left uppercut in the second.

Vasquez responded well in the middle rounds. He landed effectively in the third and fourth, opening a cut over Brown’s left eye. The Dominican pressure fighter enjoyed his best stretch from the fifth through seventh rounds, forcing Brown to work through adversity.

Brown regained momentum in the eighth, landing a damaging body shot and using movement to create openings. He finished strongly over the final two rounds, boxing effectively from range while limiting Vasquez’s opportunities to rally.

The victory earned Brown the vacant regional title and kept his unbeaten record intact.

Sekhniashvili Stops Dancha

In the co-feature, Nikoloz Sekhniashvili scored a fifth-round knockout of Ivan Dancha.

Sekhniashvili controlled the fight with steady body work before ending matters in the fifth round. A crushing left hook to the liver sent Dancha to his knees, where he was counted out by referee Eric Dali.

Perez Impresses

Angel Perez remained unbeaten with a dominant six-round unanimous decision over Derrick Murray.

Perez switched seamlessly between orthodox and southpaw stances throughout the contest and consistently landed the cleaner punches. He hurt Murray several times with body shots and head punches before closing the fight with a strong final round.

All three judges scored the bout 60-54.

Carrillo Wins Action Fight

Emmanuel Carrillo Jr. improved to 6-0 with a unanimous decision victory over Ezeqe-el Zayid in one of the night’s most entertaining fights.

Both fighters exchanged heavily throughout the six-round contest, but Carrillo’s higher output and stronger finish helped secure the decision. The judges scored it 58-56 and 59-55 twice.

Garcia Continues Rise

Seventeen-year-old David Garcia continued his impressive start as a professional with a six-round shutout decision over veteran Josue Morales.

Garcia controlled the action from the opening bell and hurt Morales in the third round with a right hook. Morales, who entered the bout with more than 60 professional fights, proved durable but was unable to slow the unbeaten prospect.

All three judges scored the fight 60-54.

Undercard Results

Damari Philson defeated Jose Valenzuela Alvarado by unanimous decision over six rounds.

Heavyweight prospect Rishon Sims recorded a second-round stoppage of Giovanni Payne after dropping him with a three-punch combination.
