Crazy moment hundreds of Slavia Prague fans invade pitch and ‘ATTACK’ rival keeper as clash abandoned in final seconds

THE Prague derby was abandoned amid utterly chaotic scenes which saw hundreds of fans invade the pitch with flares.

Slavia Prague led arch-rivals Sparta Prague 3-2 in their crunch top-of-the-table Czech First League showdown.

Victory would have secured the title for the hosts.

However, in the seventh minute of ten added on at the end of the game, the match descended into uncontrollable drama.

Hundreds of home Slavia supporters suddenly raced on to the field.

Many of them carried lit flares and threw them on the pitch – while many approached the away section and rained pyrotechnics towards their rival fans in truly shocking behaviour.

Worrying video footage showed the two sets of players desperately scrambling towards the tunnel to run to safety.

However, Sparta goalkeeper Jakub Surovcik collapsed in agony after appearing to be struck – and he accused the home fans of attacking him.

Surovcik wrote on Instagram: “To have someone run up to me during the match, threaten me to my face, and attack me is absolutely unacceptable.

“I will pursue this legally.”

Team-mate Matyas Vojta and a member of Sparta’s medical staff were also assaulted, according to reports.

Home fans who stayed in their seats furiously chanted insults at their fellow Slavia supporters causing the trouble – especially as they were just three minutes from celebrating the title.

Instead, the referee initially suspended the match.

And soon it was called off for good – with the away side rushing on to their team bus and escaping the Eden Arena.

Now Slavia face a nervous wait to see what punishment the authorities will slap them with – a forfeit defeat is likely, though.

Slavia chairman Jaroslav Tvrdik said: “I’m truly sorry to say this because I thought we would celebrate the title together.

“But things turned out differently, as two Sparta players were physically attacked.

“The opponent has already left the stadium, and the match officials, security, and police have decided to end the game.”
