The Dallas Cowboys didn’t have the season they wanted to have in 2024.

Dallas struggled with injuries and finished the season with a 7-10 record. The Cowboys dealt with injuries left and right. It’s impressive that they were still able to win seven games despite losing Dak Prescott for a long time, along with others. But, they still missed the playoffs and have had a long offseason already.

If the Cowboys are healthier in 2025, they should make a run at a playoff spot. The Cowboys have done a good job adding talent this offseason, including receiver George Pickens, and are in a better place already.

Most of the buzz of the offseason has been about guys like Prescott, Pickens, CeeDee Lamb, and Micah Parsons, but there is a lot more talent on this roster to be excited about. For example, Pro Football Focus’ Jonathon Macri made a list of each team’s “most underrated player” and mentioned safety Malik Hooker for Dallas.

“Dallas Cowboys: S Malik Hooker,” Macri said. “Hooker took over as a starting safety in 2022 and never looked back, playing nearly 3,000 defensive snaps over that span. He has earned a top-10 PFF run-defense grade (89.3) and a top-20 PFF overall grade (78.8) at the position since 2022.

“Hooker is once again set to be the Cowboys’ reliable deep safety in Matt Eberflus’ defense in 2025 and should continue to provide a solid return on the team’s investment in him.”

Hooker is an eight-year National Football League veteran. He has spent the last four years with the Cowboys and is coming off a season in which he started all 17 games and had two interceptions, five passes defended, 81 total tackles, three tackles for loss, and one quarterback hit.
