The Los Angeles Chargers addressed the wide receiver position in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, selecting Ole Miss wide receiver Tre Harris. The move was seen as a terrific selection for the Chargers as it gives Justin Herbert an athletic deep threat to pair with last year’s rookie sensation, Ladd McConkey.

The Chargers still have a wide receiver room full of potential with young players like Quentin Johnston and Derius Davis as well as a veteran in Mike Williams, who was brought back during the offseason. Will that be enough, or could the team be looking for more?

According to a report from Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports, the Pittsburgh Steelers inquired about trading for Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman before making the deal to get George Pickens. Those talks didn’t go far, likely because the two teams are bitter division rivals, but would the Ravens listen to offers for Bateman?

Anthony Palacios of Last Word on Sports believes that they would and sees the Chargers as a team that could get a deal for him done.

“The Los Angeles Chargers are rebuilding their wide receiver room with second-year star Ladd McConkey and rookie second-round pick Tre Harris. However, they could use a more proven option like Rashod Bateman as they compete in one of the league’s most competitive divisions. He can start while Harris adjusts to the NFL and should be an upgrade on Quentin Johnston and the aging Mike Williams”, wrote Palacios.

It’s a fun trade idea and the Chargers have had several former Ravens on their roster since Jim Harbaugh became the team’s head coach as John Harbaugh coaches Baltimore. But it seems like the Ravens would be hard-pressed to move Bateman, who still has two years remaining on his contract.

Bateman is also coming off what was easily his best season in the league, which included him finding the end zone nine times.

The Ravens did add DeAndre Hopkins to their roster this offseason, but probably won’t be eager to move the wide receiver that led them in touchdown receptions last year. Still, for the right price, a trade between teams coached by brothers is always possible.
