BRENTFORD have mocked Liverpool boss Arne Slot with a savage six-word tweet after their 3-2 win over the Reds.

The Bees turned the Dutchman’s own words against him after the defeat on Saturday evening.

Slot was left red-faced after his comments about Manchester United last week came back to haunt him following another painful Premier League defeat.

The Liverpool manager caused a stir when he admitted he was “surprised” by United’s line-up after their 2-1 win at Anfield, suggesting Ruben Amorim’s team selection had caught him off guard.

Many fans and pundits found the remarks awkward, arguing United were well within their rights to change their approach to secure the win.

But after Brentford stunned Liverpool on Saturday, the Bees delivered a perfectly timed dig that left supporters in stitches.

Following their victory at the Gtech Community Stadium, Brentford’s official X account posted: “Must have been that unchanged team.”

The short post was a direct reference to Slot’s earlier comments, highlighting that Keith Andrews’ side had named the same starting XI as in their previous game and still managed to beat Liverpool.

Brentford took the lead early through Dango Ouattara after just five minutes before Kevin Schade doubled their advantage on the stroke of half-time.

Liverpool pulled one back via Milos Kerkez in first-half stoppage time but a second-half penalty from Igor Thiago restored the hosts’ two-goal cushion.

Mohamed Salah struck late to make it 3-2, yet it wasn’t enough to prevent Liverpool from slipping to a fourth straight league defeat.

It’s a worrying run for Slot, whose side have now lost as many Premier League matches in the past month as they did during the entirety of last season.

The result piles further pressure on the manager, who is still searching for his first win in October after a difficult last few months.

Brentford’s post quickly went viral, earning thousands of likes and replies from fans calling it “elite trolling” and “the tweet of the season.”

The win moves Brentford further clear of the relegation zone, while Liverpool’s early-season optimism has taken a major hit as they continue to slide down the table.
